Getting started

Accept Incenti's terms

Agree to Incenti's Master Subscription Agreement, Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy in the Before you continue dialog, once per user.

Before you start

  • You need to be signed in to the Incenti Portal. See Sign in to the Incenti Portal.
  • You are agreeing on behalf of your organization, so only continue if you are authorized to do that.
  • Every person on an account accepts for themselves. One user accepting does not cover their teammates.

When the dialog appears

A dialog titled Before you continue appears over whichever Incenti Portal page you open. It covers every signed-in page, including the full-screen form builder and response workspace. The page behind it is dimmed.

You see it when you have no recorded acceptance for the current version of the terms:

  • the first time you sign in, and
  • once, if you were already a user before this step was introduced and had not accepted yet.

After you accept, it comes back only when Incenti publishes a new version of the terms.

It does not appear on public forms (the page a respondent fills in), on the Incenti marketing site, or on this Knowledge Base.

Steps

  1. Read the checkbox label: "I agree to Incenti's Master Subscription Agreement, Privacy Policy, and Acceptable Use Policy on behalf of my organization."
  2. To read an agreement first, select its name in the label. Master Subscription Agreement, Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy each open in a new tab. Selecting a link does not tick the checkbox.
  3. Tick the checkbox. Agree and continue is disabled until you do.
  4. Select Agree and continue. A spinner shows on the button while your agreement is saved.
  5. The dialog closes and you can use the Incenti Portal as normal.

The dialog has no close button, no cancel button and no sign-out link. Pressing Escape or clicking outside it does nothing. The only way past it is to agree.

What happens next

Incenti records your acceptance. The record holds:

  • you, as the user,
  • the account you accepted on behalf of,
  • the terms version,
  • the three documents (Master Subscription Agreement, Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy),
  • your IP address and browser user agent, and
  • the time you accepted.

Records are only ever added, never edited or removed. The Incenti Portal has no screen where you can view or download your record. If you need a copy, email support@incenti.co.

Pressing Agree and continue twice, or accepting in two tabs at once, does not create a second record for the same version.

If saving fails, a message reads "Couldn't save your agreement. Please try again." and the dialog stays open. Select Agree and continue again.

If the Incenti Portal cannot check whether you have already accepted, it shows the dialog again. Accepting a second time is harmless.

The sign-in page also links to the privacy policy. Under the sign-in buttons, the sentence "By continuing you agree to Incenti contacting you about our products and services. You can opt out at any time. Learn more in our privacy policy." has "privacy policy" as a link that opens https://www.incenti.co/privacy in a new tab.

Common questions

Q: Do I have to accept again on another device or browser? A: No. Acceptance is recorded for you as a user, not for a browser or device. Once you have accepted the current terms, you do not see the dialog again on other devices.

Q: Why am I seeing "Before you continue" again? A: Incenti published a new version of the terms. Everyone sees the dialog once for each new version.

Q: Can I keep using the Incenti Portal without accepting? A: No. The dialog covers every signed-in page and cannot be closed, so you need to agree to continue.

Q: I am not authorized to agree on behalf of my organization. What do I do? A: The dialog cannot be skipped, so ask the right person at your organization to review the agreements, and contact your account admin or support@incenti.co if you need help. Until you accept, you cannot use the Incenti Portal.

Q: Where can I read the agreements before I accept? A: Select the agreement names in the dialog, or go to https://www.incenti.co/legal, which lists every Incenti legal document. Questions about the agreements themselves go to legal@incenti.co.

Q: Can I get a copy of my acceptance? A: Email support@incenti.co. The Incenti Portal does not show or export acceptance records.

Q: Can I sign out while the dialog is showing? A: The user menu is behind the dialog, but the sign-out page still works: replace the path in your browser's address bar with /logout (keeping the portal's address). That signs you out and returns you to the sign-in page.
